You Were... 03:48
Verse: It's been five years now Since we went our seperate ways But how was I to know That I'd dearly miss those days Chorus: I'm diving into thoughts of you And oh, these thoughts are so overdue Maybe there's time before I hit the surface To break my own heart before you ever get chance Verse 2: I fell in the shadow of Those lonely nights when I'd fall in love But it's just a ruse So I can hide before I lose Repeat Chorus x2

Verse 1: I kneel at my bedside every night And I pray to God that He just might Help you see what you're supposed to do Because the wall you're standing behind is see-through Get up, get up it's time to go home now But do you even know where home is? about

Abandon Solitary is a one-man band similar to that of Owl City. Avery Thorn does it all and his Hope for the Heartless is a blend of lively and heartfelt gems mixed with instrumental genius. Artists have a tendency to remind listeners of artists from the past decades. However, Thorn takes it to a whole new level by showcasing his skills on the keys and throwing it back to the true artists of the Classical and Renaissance periods. Thorn’s musicianship is shown on tracks such as “AAA” which has the same essence as a Chopin classic. It awakes emotions of a stark day watching the rainfall reminiscing on memories you’d give your left arm to relive just one more time. Abandon Solitary has tracks that make you do everything from crack a smile to shed a tear. Thorn takes listeners on a journey of variety offering both songs packed full of passionate lyrics to instrumentals that show off an artist. Fans of The Postal Service, and Jack’s Mannequin’s latest The Glass Passenger will fall hard for Abandon Solitary’s Hope for the Heartless.

Track 1: “The River Flows” kicks off Hope for the Heartless with a lively spirit. The Rocket Summer, lighthearted vibe will grab audiences’ attentions. Then the lyrics will make sure they never leave. This is a genuine love song that is absent of the usual clichés, which proves it to be from the heart.

Track 6: “Hope for the Heartless” is a unique choice for the title track. The purely instrumental arrangement can be seen as the modern grandbaby of a Vivaldi. Both men know the importance of variety in a song, and are able to capture all the senses with the flick of the wrist on the ivory keys.

Track 16: “The Lonely Road” has an eerie, yet captivating tone. The somber beat paints the portrait of a person at wits end. “So many people walk this road” tugs at the heartstrings of every listener because even the grandest social butterfly has had their day of solitude. With the realization that everyone feels alone at times, fans will appreciate they are indeed not alone, and that is the main idea behind music; not only connecting with the audience, but moving them as well.
